Detailed itinerary

Day 1 Fly to Chengdu from all over the world

Fly to Chengdu Tianfu International Airport on the first day according to the flight schedule and check into Tianfu International Hotel upon arrival.

Day 2 from Chengdu to Nyingchi arrive at Milin Airport before 11:00 am

Milin Peach Blossom Avenue, apply for travel permit, Wild peach blossoms in Laru Village, Gala Peach Blossom Village;

Arrive at Nyingchi Milin Airport around 11 a.m. and then visit Milin Peach Blossom Village: Milin Peach Blossom Village is located in Milin County. Every spring, the entire village is decorated with pink peach blossoms. The peach blossoms here are in full bloom and attract many tourists to come and enjoy them.

Then head to the city to get a travel permit.  

On the way, you can also enjoy the view of Bangjietang Grassland. We will arrive in Nyingchi in the evening.

Day 3 Tongmai Tianxian, Guxianghu, Taohuagou: Galang Village - Qingduo Town - Runa Village - Yuxu Township

Depart in the morning, pass through Tongmai Pass, and arrive at Guxiang Lake. Guxiang Lake is located in Guxiang Village, 33 kilometers from the county seat of Bomi, Xizang and 210 kilometers from Nyingchi Prefecture. The lake is 2,600 meters above sea level, 5 kilometers long, 2 kilometers wide at its widest point and more than 20 meters deep at its deepest point. It covers an area of 20,000 square meters and is a freshwater barrier lake. There is a small island in the lake, which covers an area of more than 1,000 square meters. The lake is located on National Highway 318, with convenient transportation and is a natural park. The lake was formed in 1953 when the "Xionglu Geni" glacier activity on the back mountain of the ancient village caused a huge mudslide in the "Kagong Nongba" that blocked the Palong Zangbo River.

Day 4 Laigu Glacier/Midui Glacier, Ranwu Lake (if Laigu Glacier is closed, switch to Midui Glacier)

Laigu Glacier, from Ranwu Town to Laigu Village, walk along the shore of Ranwu Lake, which is known as the "Paradise Pool of the West". The bushes on both sides of the lake, overlapping with the white clouds and blue sky, reflect in the lake water into a series of richly colored scenes. The many glaciers surrounding Laigu Village have formed several ice lakes in front of the village. Due to the different geological and soil compositions of different glaciers, each ice lake reflects different colors. One of the ice lakes has large and small icebergs floating on it. It really feels like being in the South Pole.

Alternative: Midui Glacier is located in Yupu Township, Bomi County. It is 103 kilometers from the county seat, 8 kilometers from National Highway 318, and the nearest village is only 2 kilometers away. It is the most important Marine glacier in Xizang. The main peak of the glacier is 6,800 meters above sea level, and the snow line is only 4,600 meters above sea level. It shines with snow all year round, and the scenery is magical and charming.

The glacier is as clean as jade, beautiful and diverse in form, captivating in appearance. At the lower end of the glacier is a mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest. The snow never melts all year round, and the lush forest remains green all year round, wrapped in silver ribbons and green skirts. As the ice surface is warmer, it is home to ice worms, ice fleas and other kinds of microorganisms all year round. Influenced by the climate of the eastern part of the Himalayas, the Midui Glacier, located at 29° N, has a lower temperature at its end than the glacier on the Bogedo Mountain, which is about 44° N. This is a special phenomenon among modern glaciers in China

Ranwu Lake, also known as Ranwu Co in Tibetan (co is the Tibetan pronunciation for lake), is located in Ranwu Township in the southwest corner of Basu County, Chamdo City, about 90 kilometers from the county seat, Baima Town. It is a barrier lake formed due to a landslide or mudslide blocking the river. There are many such barrier lakes in the geologically active southeastern part of Xizang. Ranwu Lake is well-known to many travelers on the Sichuan-Xizang Highway because it is close to it.

Day 5 Galang Lake, Lulang Forest Viewing Platform, Lulang International Tourist Town, a town at the foot of the snow-capped mountains

Garang Lake is located in the villages of Rona and Garang in Guxiang, northwest of the county seat of Bomi County, Xizang. It is on National Highway 318, 1.7 kilometers from National Highway 318, 17 kilometers from the county seat and 228 kilometers from Bayi Town where the region is located. It can be reached about 4 kilometers from the Bbomi Kadaqiao Mountain pass through Garang Village. The lake covers an area of more than 15,000 square meters. Surrounded by green mountains, towering ancient trees, beautiful natural scenery, unique architectural style of the houses, and the ruins of the most famous "Galang Dynasty" in Bomi and the descendants of the Galang King, it is the top choice for developing tourism.

Lulang Forest Sea: Lulang, which means "Dragon King Valley" in Tibetan, is located in Lulang Town, Nyingchi County, Nyingchi Prefecture, Xizang, which is known as "Switzerland of the Snow Region". It is about 80 kilometers from Bayi Town on the southern section of the Sichuan-Xizang Highway (National Highway 318). It is situated in the deep mountains and old forests, in the Indian Ocean water vapor zone flowing in from the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, with an altitude of 2,700-4,200 meters and a plateau warm semi-humid climate. It is known as "Jiangnan of Xizang".

Lulang Forest is a forest shrouded in clouds and mist, known as "a place that makes one miss home". The entire scenic spot is picturesque, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, with lush forests in the gullies and neatly trimmed meadows among the forests. Many houses are built in this heavenly forest surrounded by mountains and water, with meandering streams and thousands of kinds of wildflowers blooming in competition. It is simply a paradise on earth.

Day 6: Basong Co, Lhasa-Nyingchi Expressway, Lhasa

Basong Co is one of the famous alpine lakes in Xizang, located in Bome County, Nyingchi Prefecture. Every spring, magnificent peach blossoms bloom along the lakeside and on the surrounding slopes, creating an enchanting scene. Basong Co Peach Blossom Village, located near this beautiful lake, is one of the best places to enjoy the blooming peach blossoms.

Then return to Lhasa and arrive at the center of the holy city.

Day 7 Sightseeing in Lhasa - Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Octagonal Street, Yaowang Mountain Observation Deck    

In the morning, visit the Potala Palace, the world's highest ancient palace-fortress complex, the residence of successive Dalai Lamas and the center of political and religious power in Xizang; It houses gold stupas containing the true figures of successive Dalai Lamas and a large number of precious murals, Thangkas and Buddha statues, which are a concentrated representation of Tibetan culture.

After lunch, visit the Jokhang Temple, the earliest Buddhist temple built during the Tubo Dynasty, where there is a life-sized statue of Sakyamuni at the age of twelve that accompanied Princess Wencheng into Xizang. It is the most sacred and effective Buddha statue in the hearts of the Tibetan people. Here, visitors can not only see the piety of the people in their worship, but also walk around the octagonal street with the people to pray for all living beings.

Day 8 Lhasa - Yamdrok Yumtso - Gyangtse - Shigatse

Set off from Lhasa in the morning and drive to Yamdrok Yumtso, one of the three sacred lakes in Xizang with its dazzling and ever-changing colors. Yamdrok Yumtso, the highest freshwater lake in the world, is 4,441 meters above sea level; "Jade Lake" in Tibetan, then descend to get up close and personal with Yamdrok Yumtso. The azure lake water blends with the distant snow-capped mountains, along with the various mountain ranges on both sides, the distinctive Tibetan villages, and the cattle and sheep everywhere. The journey is refreshing and delightful.

In the afternoon, I passed by the distant view of the Karola Glacier: to feel its grandeur, misty beauty, the glacier is a geological history written by flowing years and ice and snow, a great work of art sculpted by time. After arriving at the heroic city of Xizang - Gyangzi County, with a distant view of Gyangzi Fort; Follow the Gyangtse Plain to Xigaze, a key town in the back of Xizang.

Day 9 Shigaze - Lazi - Dingri - Mount Everest Base Camp

In the morning, drive through Lazi to the new Dingri county town - Xiegeer. Along the way, you will cross the 5,220-meter-high Gyatso Mountain, and when you are approaching Xiegeer, you will be able to see the majestic Mount Everest. You will cross the 5,220-meter-high Gyatso pass along the way, make a brief stop and then head to Dingri.

Arrive at the world's highest Mount Everest Nature Reserve in the afternoon. Looking south from Rongbu Monastery, the world's highest monastery, is recognized as the best spot to look up at Mount Everest. At 5,100 meters, the temple stands tall with white pagodas and fluttering prayer flags. Take an eco-friendly vehicle to the base camp of Mount Everest at 5,200 meters, where you will dance with the world's highest peak, Mount Everest, and have the chance to see the flag clouds of Mount Everest that float like the fire of life.

Day 10 Mount Everest Base Camp - Dingri - Xigaze    

In the early morning, looking up at Mount Everest from the top of the earth in the sunlight, the summit is covered with snow all year round, and in the distance, the glaciers hang down and the silver peaks rise high, presenting a holy scene. You can feel life being desolate, conquered by human silence, small yet clear in the purity and purity of the universe. With a lingering attachment to Mount Everest, return to Xigaze in the afternoon in the majestic, grand and winding Himalayas.

Day 11 Shigaze - Tashilhunpo Monastery - Lhasa

After breakfast, visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the residence of the Panchen Lama, and the Panchen Master's stupa. Tashilhunpo Monastery is one of the six major Gelugpa monasteries and has been the residence of successive Panchen Lamas. It was once the ruling center of the regime in the back of Xizang. The temple houses the world's largest bronze seated Buddha statue, the "Jampa Buddha" (also known as the Maitreya Buddha statue), which is 28 meters tall. Return to Lhasa along the Yarlung Zangbo River Valley in the afternoon, experiencing the grandeur of the first river on the plateau.

DAY12  Lhasa - Soft sleeper - Qinghai-Xizang Railway - Xining Railway Station

Accommodation: Train soft sleeper (Some tourists can return early)

Take the train that departs in the morning. This is the best time to see the scenery of the uninhabited area of Kegexili along the way

Day 13 Xining - Xining Airport - Chengdu

Arrive in Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province, around 8 a.m. A special vehicle will pick you up and take you to Xining Airport. Return to Chengdu to finish the tour.
