Day 1:Depart from your home→Chengdu/Chongqing

Welcome to Chengdu. This city is home to lovely pandas. After the hotel pick-up, you will be taken to the hotel by vehicle. Check in at the hotel and have a rest. Take a night's rest in Chengdu and enjoy the leisure and cuisine of the city. The next day, our plateau tour will begin.

Day 2:Chengdu/Chongqingto Lhasa-check in hotel and rest

Altitude:3650m Distance:100km,about 1.5 hours’drive

Upon your arrival at Lhasa airport, your guide will greet you and escort you to your hotel and help you check in. You will have the rest of the day and evening to rest and relax to become acclimatized the higher altitude of Tibet.

Day 3:Potala Palace- Jokhang Temple- Bajiao Street

Lhasa is regarded as the sacred city of Tibetan Buddhism, and towering on the Red Hill is the majestic Potala Palace, the former residence of ancient Tibetan kings and the Dalai Lamas. Founded by King Songtsen Gampo in t he 7th century, the Potala Palace has undergone numerous renovations and expansions to reach its current grandeur. Jokhang Temple has always been considered the heart of Lhasa and the focal point of Tibetan faith. The original name of Jokhang Temple, "Rasa Trul nang Tsulagkang," gave rise to the name of the city, Lhasa. To this day, believers from all over continue to visit daily for worship, making it the most important religious site in Tibet.

Day 4:Lhasa→ Namco → Lhasa

Namtso Lake, located in the central part of the Tibet Autonomous Region, is the second largest lake in Tibet and the third largest saline lake in China. Situated at an altitude of 4718 meters, the lake has a rectangular shape, with a length of over 70 kilometers from east to west and a width of over 30 kilometers from north to south, covering an area of approximately 1920 square kilometers. "Namtso" means "heavenly lake" in Tibetan, and its Mongolian name is "Tengri Lake," both implying its divine significance. Namtso Lake is one of Tibet's "Three Holy Lakes" and is revered as the first sacred lake of ancient Bon religion. It is also renowned as a significant Buddhist pilgrimage site.

Day 5:Lhasa- Gyatso Pass (Altitude: 4990 meters) - Yamdrok Lake- Karola Glacier- Shigatse

Road journey is about 360KM, about 7 hours

In the eyes of Tibetans, yamd rok lake resembles a turquoise earring scattered by a goddess among the peaks. With an elevation of 4441 meters, the lake's water is crystal clear and smooth as a mirror. After crossing the Gyatso Pass, we will pass by the Karol a Glacier, which is the closest glacier to the road in Tibet and shines brightly year-round.

Day 6:Shigatse→Tashilhunpo Monastery →Lhasa

Road journey is about 270 KM, about 4 hours

Tashilhunpo Monastery, along with the "Three Great Monasteries" of Ganden, Sera, and Drepung in Lhasa, is collectively known as the "Four Great Monasteries" of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism.

Situated against the mountain, Tashilhunpo Monastery is surrounded by palace walls, and its winding and twisting walls, along with its solemn temples, together form the sacred source of Tashilhunpo Monastery. The entire monastery faces north and south, with Buddhist halls onnected in harmony with the terrain, creating a layout that is both orderly and symmetrical.While emphasizing religious and ethnic characteristics, the architectural design of Tashilhunpo Monastery also highlights its cultural heritage. The Maitreya Hall is one of the grandest buildings within Tashilhunpo Monastery, renowned for its towering 30-meter-tall statue of Maitreya Buddha.

Day 7:Lhasa → Chengdu/Chongqing → Home

Today you will have free time until your tour guide escorts you to Lhasa Airport to catch your flight from Lhasa back to Chengdu. At this point, your travel service in Tibet will end.
